Royal Children’s Hospital
In 1971, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) made its very first collection and donation towards the Royal Children’s Hospital in Victoria. This annual collection, which has become a tradition of our Society, continues to present day.
After the devastating Tsunami in 2004, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) initiated the sponsorship of two (2) Muslim children from Arche.
Shortly after this time, the AAIS Committee Board also extended the sponsorship of orphans to two (2) children from Kosova.
In conjunction with Human Appeal International (HAI), the AAIS annual sponsors two (2) children from Kosova.
The AAIS welcomes all donations towards the sponsoring of orphans and encourages those that are interested in sponsoring an orphan to contact the AAIS Committee Board at the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Each year, the AAIS collects Kurban and in conjunction with Human Appeal International (HAI) distributes Kurban to disadvantage and needy Muslim families around the world.
Bangladesh water wells
In 2008, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) Women’s Committee raised funds at the annual AAIS Picnic towards building water wells for Muslims in Bangladesh.
This initiative proved to be a great success with the AAIS building several water wells to date.
